In addition to grants and sponsorships provided by AFL's Community Outreach Program, AFL also encourages its associates to engage with local nonprofit organizations to volunteer their time.

AFL's ACT (AFL Community Team) Projects include associates, friends and family who volunteer for an organization, giving their time and effort. Through AFL's Community Outreach Program, volunteers are able to provide materials or a small grant to enhance their efforts.

The iACT Program supports individual AFL associates who volunteer 40 hours per year or more for a nonprofit organization. AFL provides a small financial donation to nonprofit organizations on the volunteer's behalf.

All ACT and iACT volunteers are eligible to vote for an organization in their community to receive a Volunteer Choose grant. These annual grants, presented around the world, recognize the volunteer efforts of AFL associates who participated in community service during the previous year.
