Director of Supply Chain

"With AFL’s focus on expanding globally, my team is constantly challenged to deliver more to the organization. The environment is demanding and fast-paced and working across the company’s services and diverse product lines makes each day challenging."

Since 2005, Jeff Schmerbeck has served as the compliance and international trade officer for AFL as well as director of supply chain and more recently providing compliance and supply chain oversight for Fujikura Automotive America (FAA) and Fujikura America Inc. (FAI). Jeff leads the strategic development of AFL’s domestic and international supply chain functions ensuring compliance with import and export control laws and regulations in all countries in which AFL operates.

Since assuming this role, Jeff applied his proven strategic experiences to make substantial contributions that positively impact AFL’s overall operational and financial performance. Jeff directed the supply chain consolidation of 14 AFL services acquisitions, reducing inventory by 96 percent and manpower by 85 percent. In the compliance arena, Jeff streamlined processes and integrated standards that have produced 99 percent compliance across AFL’s facilities while significantly reducing effective duty rates and logistics costs, resulting in significant cost savings. Under Jeff’s direction, AFL has delivered a wide variety of internal training tools for employees on topics ranging from anti-trust to international trade best practices.
