Kenny Nara

Kenny Nara is chairman of AFL. He is the newest member of AFL’s leadership team having been selected for this role in mid 2011. He also serves as chairman of Fujikura Automotive America (FAA) and Fujikura America Inc. (FAI).

Since joining Fujikura in 1975, Kenny’s tenure with Fujikura has spanned multiple progressive roles, with an emphasis on international sales and exports in the telecommunications and power utility sectors. He managed high voltage cable projects in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as well as a number of turnkey projects in Russia. In 1990, Kenny assumed responsibility for Fujikura International Inc., working from the company’s office in Nashville, Tennessee. From this position, Kenny led a number of strategic programs for Fujikura, focusing primarily on market penetration in North America and Europe.

In 2002, Kenny was named general manager of Fujikura’s plant sales department in Japan responsible for domestic and international power and telecommunication cables and systems. He was promoted to associate executive officer and general manager of plant sales in 2007. Shortly thereafter, Nara was elected managing director of Fujikura Europe Ltd.

In these varied roles, Kenny has built an impressive and consistent track record of driving both top-line growth and profitability. His experience in sales and marketing has been a key factor in building Fujikura’s business across the world.

Kenny earned his Bachelor degree in Economics from Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan. In South Carolina, Kenny is actively involved in the Japan America Association of South Carolina.
