"AFL’s strengths include professional management and careful analysis of situations to facilitate growth and development of our business. Integrity is a given at AFL. I’m proud to work with such a talented group of professionals."

Mike Booth is executive vice president of AFL’s services business, responsible for managing wireline, wireless, enterprise and government service solutions. He has served in this capacity since 2007.

Mike’s diverse background across AFL’s product lines makes him uniquely qualified to develop and expand the services offering at AFL. Since assuming this role, he has implemented a series of operational practices that have resulted in improved efficiencies and profitability. In the U.S., Mike was instrumental in securing AFL’s designation as a Strategic Alliance Vendor with AT&T. To expand AFL’s service offerings into European markets, Mike spearheaded the company’s 2011 acquisition of TCC, a leading telecommunications network implementation and integration provider based in Bracknell, United Kingdom. Under Mike’s leadership, AFL has grown the enterprise business considerably, particularly in the banking and hospitality industries.

Mike began his career with Raychem, Ltd., first as a technologist, and then assuming roles in project management and sales. In 1987, he left to join FOCAS Ltd., a manufacturer of fiber optic cable for the power utility industry in Europe and the U.S. Mike was one of FOCAS’ 13 founding members, and during his tenure, he worked across the organization serving as sales manager, general manager, director, and managing director. During Mike’s 13 years with FOCAS, the company’s revenue grew from low levels in the $100K range to levels approaching $100M with exceptional success in both Europe and the Far East.

In 2000, AFL acquired FOCAS and Mike joined AFL as managing director for manufacturing operations in Swindon, U.K. In 2003, he was selected to manage AFL’s cable manufacturing facility in South Carolina, where he implemented key process and operational improvements to drive profitability and efficiency in the business. Next, Mike assumed responsibility for sales in the utility market. At a later point, the general manager position for the company’s conductor accessories business was added to his responsibilities.

Mike is a graduate of The University of Leeds in Leeds, U.K. He holds an Honors Degree in Physics and a PhD in Polymer Physics.
