AFL Releases New FTTx Aerial Weathertight Closure

AFL releases the LightGuard™ 500 FTTx aerial weathertight fiber optic splice closure designed to allow for FTTx splicing in aerial applications. With access for one to 16 subscriber drops using LGX® 118 duplex adapters for connectivity, the LG-500 FTTx closure also features a patented tongue-in-groove cover seal system and engineered thermoplastic to meet Telcordia® aerial closure and UV­resistance requirements.

The FTTx closure includes four self-sizing grommet cable ports – two express ports and two multi-drop ports. The interior of the splice enclosure provides secure placement of spliced fibers and PLC splitters. Accessories include a dual grommet cable expansion kit, cable grounding harness, extended aerial hanger kit, adjustable bracket, six-port drop cable kit and PLC splitters.
