AFL’s Loose Tube Outside Plant Cable is designed for outdoor use as the critical link in your network backbone. Recommended and designed to support Direct Burial (Armored), Aerial Lashed (Loose Tube) or Underground Conduit based installations, AFL Loose Tube cable solutions present options when designing or specifying the network. AFL’s Loose Tube cable family offers an array of high performance jacket materials designed to withstand even the harshest petrochemical or cold climate exposures.

AFL Loose Tube cables are available as Dry Core Gel-filled or gel-free constructions, have color-coded buffer tubes and may be armored for further protection from the environment. S-Z stranded Non-Armored Loose Tube cable is most commonly deployed in options including single and double jackets. The standard jacket material is polyethylene, which provides a rugged, durable finish, while other jacket options including Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) are available for applications requiring adherence to stricter environmental standards. The Non-Armored Loose Tube family is an all-dielectric construction meaning it contains no metallic components, therefore no bonding or grounding is required.
