The ultimate in fiber laser performance
As high power fiber lasers continue to displace traditional lasers in the market, customers will benefit from AFL's vertically integrated operations and manufacturing capabilities that are well-suited to accelerate development of new splicers and cleavers while meeting evolving customer requirements.
AFL also has the capability to provide custom engineering services for specialty splicing or fiber preparation applications. These services may include custom hardware or software design, process improvement consultation, advanced splicer training and maintenance service agreements. If you need a new optical component and/or require a critical splice, AFL can fabricate spliced components including dissimilar fiber splicing, ball lens, tapers, TEC, combiners and MFAs to accelerate your time to market.
Fujikura's revolutionary fiber imaging technology, Interrelation Profile Alignment (IPA), alignment and splicing capabilities are possible with virtually any polarization-maintaining (PM) fiber type. Longer fiber tapering application is possible with Fujikura's Sweep Arc technology. Incorporating profile alignment system (PAS) using cold fiber image and warm image technologies, the optical analysis system delivers improved loss estimation capabilities, fiber image performance with large or small diameter or heat sensitive fibers.
Adding to AFL's long heritage of providing the most competitive solutions, AFL in conjunction with Fujikura introduced the LZM-100 in 2012. The LZM-100 LAZERMaster is the first commercially available glass processing and splicing system that uses a CO2 laser heat source to perform splicing, adiabatic tapering and other glass-shaping operations. The LZM possesses large diameter capabilities up to 2.3 mm and long tapering capabilities up to 150 mm.
The LZM-100 utilizes proprietary (patent-pending) closed-loop power stabilization techniques, resulting in power stability within 0.5 percent, enabling highly repeatable processes and very smooth taper profiles. In addition, by using the CO2 heat source repeatable performance is ensured and electrode/filament maintenance and instability is eliminated. A clean, deposit-free fiber surface and consistent results is essential in high power fiber lasers and power delivery systems, making the LZM-100 ideal for technically-advanced markets such as medical, military/defense, industrial and more.
For sub-micron accuracy, reliability and consistent splicing for high power fiber optic lasers, material processors choose the ARCMaster™ series of fusion splicers. Whether you're welding, cutting, micro-machining, etching or soldering, no other company in the world understands fiber better than Fujikura. And, no other company listens more closely to customers with a focus on rapid delivery of next generation tools and technology to the market.
Industry experts understand that successful splicing begins with a good cleave, an area where Fujikura truly outpaces the competition. ARCMaster™ fusion splicer components are integrated for streamlined use. Using a patent-pending split V-groove clamping system, the positioning system delivers unprecedented versatility for splicing large diameter fiber (LDF), heat sensitive or small diameter fiber. By calibrating the electrodes inside the splicer, the fiber is spliced in a flat, uniform manner for low loss.
