Small but Strong – Introducing Ultra HD MicroCore®

In 2003, AFL launched a product that would start a lineage of turn-key products. When our engineers developed the first Premise MicroCore Fiber Optic Cable, they knew they had created a solution that would provide significant benefits to our customers. Fast forward to 2018, and our engineers have continued the evolution of the MicroCore cable family with the Ultra HD MicroCore featuring our trademark SpiderWeb Ribbon® technology. Michael Houck, product manager, observed “With continued requirements for higher bandwidth, higher fiber density cabling products are critical to support that demand.” We took that demand and created the highest fiber density solution possible.

Bigger is not always better, and we believe our Ultra HD MicroCore proves that because of its compatibility with our Wrapping Tube Cable (WTC), a fiber optic cable that provides the smallest cable diameter and lowest weight, high-fiber count ribbon cable in the industry. The Ultra HD MicroCore may be small, but it is powerful with the capacity to have fiber counts from 144 to 864, with both single-mode and multimode fiber, and an installation tension rating of 150 lbs. This product not only meets the requirements of the latest Telcordia GR-409-CORE inside plant cabling requirements, it exceeds them.

At AFL we are committed to going above and beyond to provide the best solutions for our customers. We know that space is limited and thus valuable in data centers and central office environments, so the Ultra HD MicroCore is a smaller solution that actually provides room for more optical fibers. This new product combines some of the best, most cutting edge technologies in the industry to provide a product that will meet your needs and exceed your expectations.
Whether you have been a loyal MicroCore user for the past fifteen years or you are considering this product for the first time, go ahead and ask your sales rep how you can start experiencing the benefits of the new MicroCore Fiber Optic Cable today. Or you can visit our website for even more information about this product or any other AFL products you are interested in. We don’t think you’ll regret it!
