AFL Adds MPO to FuseConnect Splice-On Connector Series

Spartanburg, SC – AFL, is adding to its FuseConnect series by introducing the FuseConnect MPO – a fusion-spliced, field-terminated connector designed with just six components. With a factory pre-polished ferrule, gone are the concerns of operator error and expensive connector scrap. Polishing, adhesives and crimping in the field is eliminated.

Designed to Fiber Optic Connector Intermateability Standard (FOCIS), Type MPO, FOCIS‑5, TIA‑604‑5‑C, AFL's FuseConnect MPO performs as an equivalent to the standard factory terminated MPO/MTP® assemblies. Designed to utilize either ribbon or loose tube cable, this connector helps to minimize the complexity involved in the termination of a multi-fiber connection, allowing for a reliable and repeatable termination in field applications.

The FuseConnect MPO is part of the FuseConnect series of splice-on connectors which include the SC, LC, ST and FC. This product line requires a fusion splicer plus accessories for installation. The AFL FuseConnect MPO termination kit specifically provides all the necessary accessories required for field termination of the FuseConnect MPO.

Ideal for connectorizations in RF-overlay FTTP networks, CATV backbone networks, outside plant and MDU FTTP cabling. The FuseConnect MPO can also be used for connector restoration, data center installations and patch cord customizations. For more information on AFL's entire product line, visit
