AFL Integrates 10GbE Fiber Certification in Test Results Manager (TRM®)

AFL has added increased functionality to its NOYES Trace Results Manager (TRM) reporting software package. TRM now supports 10GbE IEEE802.3ae fiber certification as well as integration with its popular OFL280 FlexTester and OFL250 OTDR products. Fiber certification for 10GbE enables users to test fiber results based on industry standards and then create professional, comprehensive reports. This new version of TRM permits technicians to quickly view results, generate acceptance reports, analyze OTDR traces, loss or certification results or batch edited OTDR traces uploaded from NOYES M200, M210, M700, OFL280 FlexTester, OFL250, or C-series OTDRs and OPM products.

"Bandwidth intensive applications such as video-on-demand, music downloads, tele-presence and cloud-based services are driving the need for additional capacity in telecom, broadband and enterprise networks. 10GbE technology comes with tighter optical budgets and the need to thoroughly test fiber infrastructure to new industry standards," explains Ganesh Nakhawa, product line manager at AFL's Test and Inspection Division. "Our newest version of TRM software offers quick and easy 10GbE certification and ensures successful deployment of mission-critical services."

TRM software is designed to analyze OTDR, OLTS and OPM results, saving time and money with integrated reporting capability and powerful batch processing. TRM allows integration of fiber inspection images from the DFS1 FiberScope into customized reports. In addition to new support for the OFL280 FlexTester and OFL250, TRM supports the OPM5 power meter, C-Series and M-Series OTDR products. This new software version is free of charge to customers using NOYES OTDR, OLTS and OPM products.
