4/13/2015

Grant to A Child's HavenSpartanburg, SC – AFL associates presented two grants totaling $11,800 to organizations in Greenville and Spartanburg counties. The grants are part of AFL’s Volunteers Choose program where AFL associates that participated in volunteer programs during the previous year voted for a nonprofit organization to receive this annual gift.

A Child’s Haven in Greenville and the Cancer Association of Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties, Inc. were this year’s recipients. Debbie Roche, executive director of A Child’s Haven and Glaydeane Lee, executive director of the Cancer Association accepted the grants on their organizations’ behalf.

“Our associates are an essential component of AFL’s Community Outreach Program. Their willingness to volunteer, to give outside of themselves, is evidence that giving back is an area that is important to them,” said Corie Culp, community relations manager at AFL.

A Child’s Haven was the recipient of an $8,800 Volunteers Choose grant. The organization is dedicated to transforming the lives of young children who have experienced developmental delays or behavioral challenges. Many are victims of poverty, child abuse or domestic violence.
