A- A+

AFL listens closely to customers with a focus on rapid development of next generation tools and technology

Technology advancements are fueling unprecedented growth of fiber optic equipment. From lasers for use in manufacturing facilities and improvements to broadband infrastructure to more sophisticated medical processes and sensing, monitoring and security applications, the need for suppliers that understand the intricacies of the fiber optic cable, components and related equipment is critical for success.

Splicing and Optimization Services

AFL provides custom engineering services for special splicing or fiber preparation applications. These services may include custom hardware or software design, and process improvement consultation. Services may also include advanced splicer training and maintenance service agreements.

Additionally, if your company is developing a new optical component and/or requires a critical splice, AFL may be able to fabricate spliced components, such as dissimilar fiber splicing, ball lens, tapers, TEC, combiners and MFAs to help accelerate your time to market.

A New Generation of Splicing: State of the ARC™

When you need sub-micron accuracy, reliability and consistent splicing for fiber optic lasers, choose the ARCMaster™ series of fusion splicers. With this new generation of splicers, Fujikura reshaped and retooled an entire product line to deliver top technologies.
ARCMaster fusion splicers were introduced as a result of years of engineering and design using a patent-pending split-V-groove clamping system. The positioning system delivers unprecedented versatility for splicing LDFs (Large Diameter Fibers), speciality coated, polarization-maintaining fibers, double clad, small diameter, and many other specialty fibers. By calibrating the electrodes inside the splicer, the fiber is spliced in a flat, uniform manner for low loss and high performance.
Additionally, Fujikura's revolutionary fiber imaging technology, Interrelation Profile Alignment (IPA), alignment and splicing capabilities are possible with virtually any PM fiber type. Longer fiber tapering is possible with Fujikura's Sweep Arc technology. Incorporating profile alignment system (PAS) using cold fiber image and warm image technologies, the optical analysis system delivers improved loss estimation capabilities and fiber image performance with large or small diameter or heat sensitive fibers.

Connector solutions

For telecom-grade connectors and supporting equipment, the biggest names in the business use AFL pre-polished, epoxy and fusion connectors, tools and installation kits. FuseConnect™ fusion-spliced field-terminated connectors are just one example of how AFL brings technology directly to the customer. This innovative four-piece component eliminates polishing, adhesives and crimping in the field. It minimizes the potential for operator error, while providing high precision alignment, low loss and reliability at an affordable cost. Additionally, AFL makes industry leading modules for your plug and play solutions. These can be used for data centers, or any other high density applications.

Inside plant cable

For easy-to-install, reliable fiber optic cables with outstanding performance characteristics, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) select AFL's innovative product portfolio of inside plant cables. Choose from basic cable designs to interlocking armor configurations or combination indoor/outdoor cables. Working closely with your engineering staff, AFL custom designs and manufactures cables to meet your requirements, performance and reliability.
AFL has a global reputation for bringing best-in-class technology and design concepts to the marketplace. Added to close customer relationships, decades of experience in the industry and outstanding service and support, make AFL the right choice for fiber optic components and systems that will splice your fiber optic components together.
