AFL FlexScan® TS100 Honored with Fierce Innovation Award

Westford, MA and Spartanburg, SC – AFL, a leading manufacturer of fiber optic system solutions, was a recipient in the 2020 Fierce Innovation Awards – Telecom Edition, a peer-reviewed awards program from Questex’s Fierce Wireless and Fierce Telecom digital publications. AFL won for its new FlexScan TS100 FTTH PON Troubleshooter, an all-in-one tool that detects, identifies, locates and resolves last-mile fiber optic network issues. The competition highlights the advances in service and equipment developments unveiled over the past 12 months.
“Service providers need easy-to-use tools that will help them efficiently deliver broadband access to the millions of people who want it,” noted Dennis Parks, national sales manager for AFL’s Service Provider market. “PON is the preferred technology and AFL’s FlexScan TS100 FTTH PON Troubleshooter enables even novice technicians to troubleshoot like an expert with just the push of a button.”
This year’s Fierce awards program saw a record number of entries for the 2020 Telecom Edition. The judges included leaders from wireless and telecom companies who reviewed this year's submissions and determined the winners across 12 different categories.
The FlexScan TS100 automates testing, shortens test time, interprets results, and recommends corrective actions, improving efficiency of frontline technicians and reducing costs. The judges commented that with RDOF awards, companies might send lower-level technicians out to install fiber, or may contract out installations, and “either way, an easy-to-use test and measurement device will be an essential tool.”
