AFL Hyperscale and Light Brigade® Associates Present $14,000 United Way Campaign Donation

Spartanburg, SC – AFL Hyperscale, an organization that provides optical fiber and copper cabling infrastructure for large data centers, and Light Brigade, AFL’s training and education division, completed its annual United Way campaign by presenting a $14,000 donation to United Way of King County. Made possible by associates of both organizations and AFL’s Community Outreach Program, the donation increased more than 15 percent over the previous year.

“Community Engagement” is one of AFL’s Core Values and we are proud to have partnered with the United Way of King County for this 2018 Community Engagement Initiative,” commented Steve Althoff, president of AFL Hyperscale. “The United Way does such a great job providing support to the local families in need. We know that we can’t meet all of the needs in our communities, but we also recognize that we can’t meet any of them unless we get involved. Our associates really rallied to get behind the cause, and they were very generous with their support.”

This year’s United Way campaign theme was “Lights. Camera. Take Action.” Associates heard from United Way learning about the organizations United Way supports through its program. Through AFL’s Community Outreach Program, donations were matched dollar-for-dollar up to $100 and for those new to the United Way campaign, donations were matched dollar-for-dollar with no limit.

AFL locations in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, South Carolina and North Carolina participated in the campaign. The campaign generated $325,000 in donations within five states.

AFL has an extensive Community Outreach Program that provides grants, sponsorships, associate engagement projects, disaster relief and more. For additional information on AFL and its community initiatives, visit www.AFLglobal.com.
