AFL Recipient of BBB Upstate 2019 Business of Integrity Award for Community Service

Spartanburg, SC – AFL, an international manufacturer of fiber optic cable and accessories, was honored to be the recipient of the 2019 Business of Integrity Award for Community Service (200+ employee category) by the Better Business Bureau® of the Upstate. The Business of Integrity Awards recognize outstanding businesses for commitment to exceptional marketplace standards that benefit their consumers, employees, suppliers, industry peers and the communities in which they do business and serve.

“Their culture of volunteerism and dedication to serving their community sets AFL apart from other companies, which is why we are proud to select them as a 2019 Business of Integrity Award winner,” said Vee Daniel, president and CEO, Better Business Bureau of the Upstate.

Nominations are submitted by customers or the companies themselves, therefore, this award differs from many others in the Upstate. Rather than being decided by popularity, nominees are put through a rigorous application process evaluating the company's demonstrated commitment to business practices that build trust with employees, customers and vendors in the marketplace.

“AFL has a robust Community Outreach Program built on the belief that we can create a better community through our efforts—whether financial or through volunteerism,” explained Corie Culp, community relations manager for AFL. “We are supported by a Community Advisory Board that consists of several Upstate community leaders. With their input and feedback, we feel confident we are focusing our efforts in the right areas.”

AFL’s Community Program consists of grants and sponsorships, volunteer projects plus a Month of Service, an annual fundraising campaign, scholarship fund, disaster relief and more.
