AFL 200G-400G QSFP-DD and OSFP (Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable - Double Density / Octal Small Form-factor Pluggable) transceivers and active optical cables use eight high speed electrical lanes that support data rates up to 400 Gbps.

QSFP-DDs are designed with eight lanes that operate at up to 25 Gbps via NRZ modulation, or 50 Gbps via PAM4 modulation, which supports data rates of 200 Gbps or 400 Gbps, hence doubling the density. QSFP-DD are backward compatible with current 40G and 100G QSFPs, unlike OSFPs.

Similarly, OSFPs have eight high speed electrical lanes that will initially support 400 Gbps (8x50G or 4x100G). OSFP form factor is slightly larger than the QSFP-DD one, and requires a mechanical adapter in order to be backward compatible with current 40G and 100G QSFPs.

OSFP has an integrated heat sink to facilitate a higher power draw, and improve thermal management.

Both QSFP-DD and OSFP are available in SM and MM, and include Digital Diagnostics Monitoring (DDM) which allows monitoring of parameters such as power, temperature and voltage.
