AFL Associates Present $17,000 Campaign Donation to United Way
06/19/2018
Spartanburg, SC – AFL’s Test & Inspection Division completed its annual United Way campaign with a $17,000 total donation to local United Way organizations in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Granite United Way received $8,000 and United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley received $9,000. Made possible by associates and AFL’s Community Outreach Program, this year’s donation increased by 21 percent over last year’s campaign.
“Our local United Way organizations have first-hand knowledge of the greatest needs in our communities and are able to communicate that to our associates,” commented Séan Adam, general manager for AFL’s Test & Inspection Division. “Our associates responded to the need and increased our average gift per capita by 27 percent. They want to make a difference and it shows.”
This year’s United Way campaign theme was “Lights. Camera. Take Action.” Associates heard from a United Way representative and learned about the different organizations United Way funds. Through AFL’s Community Outreach Program, donations were matched dollar-for-dollar up to $100 and for those new to the United Way campaign, donations were matched dollar-for-dollar with no limit.
AFL locations in South Carolina, North Carolina and Washington participated in the campaign which generated $325,000 for United Way organizations in the United States. AFL locations internationally also supported the annual campaign which culminated in a $352,000+ donation to communities worldwide.
AFL has an extensive Community Outreach Program that provides grants, sponsorships, associate engagement projects, disaster relief and more. For additional information on AFL and its community initiatives, visit www.AFLglobal.com.
