AFL Expands Indoor/Outdoor Premise MicroCore® Cable Portfolio
11/16/2021
Spartanburg, SC – AFL, an international manufacturer of fiber optic cables, connectivity and accessories, is expanding its Premise MicroCore cable family to include Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) Indoor/Outdoor MicroCore and Low Smoke Zero Halogen Indoor/Outdoor MicroCore with SpiderWeb Ribbon® (SWR®) technology. Both cables are CPR-rated (B2CA) and riser-rated (OFNR-LS).
“AFL’s MicroCore product family offers one of the most diverse and highest fiber density product offerings in the industry,” explained Stephen Porach, PE, RCDD, Senior Product Line Manager. “Adding these cables enables us to expand our support for customers with global footprints and provide a true end-to-end solution.”
Ideal for hyperscale and data center applications, both cable families consist of water-blocked sub-units that are helically stranded to provide sub-unitized cables ranging from 24 to 288 fibers. The cables are rated for low smoke, zero halogen (LSZH) environments while also maintaining an OFNR rating. Both the sub-unit jackets and outer sheath contain a UV stabilizer and anti-fungus protection for use in outdoor applications.
Premise MicroCore cabling forms the backbone of high-tech networks installed in applications ranging from the LANs to hyperscale environments. Flexibility of design and performance are the hallmarks of this cable offering.
