Tatsuya Banno
Chairman
Tatsuya Banno was appointed Chairman of AFL in 2026, bringing nearly four decades of experience in optical fiber, telecommunications and technology leadership.
He joined Fujikura Ltd. in 1987 and has held a series of leadership positions across the company’s optical fiber and cable businesses. Tatsuya Banno’s experience spans research and development, production engineering, manufacturing, telecommunications systems, quality management and technology strategy. He has also contributed to the advancement of Fujikura’s optical cable solutions, including Optical Fiber, Spider Web Ribbon® and Wrapping Tube Cable.
In 2022, Tatsuya Banno was appointed Director and Chief Technology Officer (CTO), leading Fujikura Group’s research and new business development activities. The following year, he became Representative Director while continuing to serve as CTO and overseeing corporate quality management.
Throughout his career, Tatsuya Banno has combined deep technical knowledge with strategic business leadership. His expertise supports innovation, growth and the development of solutions that connect people and communities around the world.
