1 1. Unthread and remove connector adapter from FlexScan OTDR/OTS port. 2. Note whether FlexScan ferrule is UPC or APC (FlexScan APC ports marked with green dot). 3. Select appropriate Port Saver (see Figure 1). • Female end must match FlexScan’s ferrule type (UPC or APC). • Male end must match your launch cable connector type (UPC or APC). 4. Clean FlexScan’s ferrule end-face using a One-Click ® Cleaner, then inspect using FOCIS Flex. • If still dirty, clean with fluid and wipes, then reinspect. • If damaged, contact AFL Service to return your FlexScan for repair. 5. Inspect and clean ends of Port Saver using One-Click Cleaner & FOCIS Flex. 6. Install clean Port Saver onto FlexScan’s clean, undamaged ferrule. • Note: Rotate the connector until you feel it click into the alignment slot • Tighten the knurled knob to secure the replaceable connector. 7. Install the interchangeable connector adapter onto the Port Saver. • Note: Rotate the adapter until you feel it click into the alignment slot. • Tighten the knurled knob to secure the adapter. 8.
