The AFL RTD Splice Terminal allows for up to 288F mass fusion splicing or up to 96 single fiber splices. Multiple connector types are supported including drop cable adapter types, SC/APC, SC/UPC, LC/APC and LC/UPC. Fiber fanout kits are offered as single fiber or ribbon fiber versions for splicing preference and cable types installed. Fanout and adapters are included in the base configurations of the splice terminal. The AFL RTD Splice Terminal comes standard with two splice trays. There are separate compartments for splicing and drop access with lockable splice storage area to prevent unnecessary access to this area of the closure. It is easy to use with only can wrench required to access. The patented, articulated hinged drop access lid with hold-open feature is lockable. Access to this area of the enclosure is all that is needed to add drops for new installations. With an IP68 rating to 6 ft of water head, the AFL RTD Splice Terminal enables below grade installations.
