AFL is among eight organizations recognized nationwide for their commitment to workplace safety, risk management and employee well-being.
Honorees are selected through an application that requires organizations to demonstrate excellence in leadership support, employee involvement, training, incident prevention and innovative safety solutions, along with injury and illness rates below their industry averages.

AFL's safety program emphasizes leadership accountability, associate participation and forward-looking metrics to reduce risk and improve system reliability. Nearly three-quarters of AFL manufacturing associates participate in formal safety activities, including safety committees, hazard identification efforts, audits and near-miss reporting.
The company's safety efforts are also featured in its annual Corporate Responsibility Report, which details how AFL protects associates, supports communities, advances environmental stewardship and operates responsibly around the world.
