Major telecommunications providers consistently choose AFL’s copper apparatus products

AFL’s copper apparatus product line leads the industry by providing best-in-class products exceeding customer expectations. Copper apparatus includes telecommunication demarcation products, network interface devices (NIDs), enclosures, line modules and passive electronics.

As the original NID manufacturer, AFL serves as the leading demarcation provider for telephone companies. Major communications providers rely on NIDs to keep the customer’s communication service secure and reliable. AFL manufactured its first NID in 1984, and has deployed over 40 million NIDs ever since. AFL manufactures three types of NIDs:

  • K-footprint NIDs–an industry standard for over two decades including SNI-4300
    and SNI-4600
  • S-footprint NIDs–compatible with Corning Cable Systems CAC®-7600 and serve as the direct replacement for the Tyco RAYNIDs

For over 20 years, AFL has led the industry in supplying CATV and Terminal enclosures. The CableGuard® series coax demarcation enclosure, provides a secure compartment for terminating coax and mounting splitters and/or ground blocks. Termination Access enclosures provide a termination for twisted pair telco wiring.
